第七屆“外教社杯”全國高校學(xué)生跨文化能力大賽大連工業(yè)大學(xué)選拔賽即將拉開帷幕

  一、活動背景
  為深入學(xué)習(xí)貫徹黨的二十大精神,加強我國國際傳播能力建設(shè),提高高校外語教學(xué)水平,提升國際化人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量,現(xiàn)開展第七屆“外教社杯”全國高校學(xué)生跨文化能力大賽大連工業(yè)大學(xué)選拔賽。通過創(chuàng)建賽事平臺提高高校外語教學(xué)的實效性,推動語言教學(xué)實踐環(huán)節(jié)的發(fā)展與完善。以賽促教,以賽促學(xué),以賽促建,不斷增強學(xué)生的跨文化意識,培養(yǎng)從文化差異角度分析問題和解決問題的能力。通過大賽營造跨文化學(xué)習(xí)氛圍,構(gòu)建一個廣受中外學(xué)生歡迎的文化交流環(huán)境,滿足當(dāng)今世界和社會對具有國際化視野和情懷的人才需求。
  二、活動對象
  大連工業(yè)大學(xué)本科生及來華留學(xué)生
  三、比賽流程
  1、報名時間(2024年6月7日-2024年7月12日)
2、報名流程:
  l 學(xué)生首先登錄大連工業(yè)大學(xué)創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)云平臺完成報名。
  l 將視頻作品發(fā)送到郵箱3422855548@qq.com
l 作品命名:
  中國學(xué)生組:姓名+電話+學(xué)院+專業(yè)
  來華留學(xué)生組:英文名字+電話+專業(yè)
  四、作品形式和要求
  1、作品要求
  選手需完成如下跨文化交際案例,錄制案例分析視頻。中國學(xué)生組參賽語種為英語,留學(xué)生組參賽語種為漢語,視頻長度2-3分鐘。
  中國學(xué)生組跨文化交際案例如下:
  Li Ming, a male Chinese graduate student, studied in the United States. He shared a room with his American classmate Tony in a residence hall. At the very beginning, Li Ming found it easy and enjoyable to get along with Tony, for he was an open-minded person and sometimes he could give Li Ming quite a lot of helpful advice. But later, Li Ming felt it really hard to do the real effective communication. For example:
  One day Tony went into the bathroom and completely shaved his head. Li Ming easily discovered this fact when he himself visited the bathroom and saw the hair everywhere. He returned to his room and said to Tony, “You’ve shaved your head.” Tony replied, “Yeah, I did.”
  Li Ming waited a while, then said, I discovered you’d shaved your head when I went into the bathroom and saw the hair. “Yeah.” Tony confirmed. Li Ming was at a loss. He believed he had communicated in the strongest possible language his wish that the American would clean up the mess he’d made in the bathroom. But Li Ming was very much disappointed at his roommate Tony!
  Later he discussed the surprising episode with some Chinese friends who told him, “Listen, with Americans you actually have to say: Clean up the bathroom!” Li Ming believed his message had been very clear. However, he was relying on the context of the communication for the message to be understood: hair was all over the bathroom, and his roommate now was bare-headed.
  來華留學(xué)生組跨文化交際案例如下:
  一位英國學(xué)者第一次到香港,他到一個中國家庭做客。主人給他倒了一杯茶,他雖然不喜歡這種茶,但還是出于禮貌喝完了這杯茶。喝完后主人又給他斟了一杯。他一直說不喝了,但主人還是熱情地給他倒茶。那天下午這個英國人差不多喝了12杯茶。他擔(dān)心主人會認為他既虛偽又貪婪。
  2、分析建議
  選手可通過交際背景、語言差異、交際策略、文化習(xí)俗、案例反思與啟示等方面開展案例分析。
  五、比賽晉級
  大賽組委會根據(jù)選手所提交作品進行評審,對選手參賽作品進行打分。表現(xiàn)優(yōu)異選手將推薦參加第七屆“外教社杯”全國高校學(xué)生跨文化能力大賽。
  六、比賽榮譽
  評審結(jié)果將在2024年8月公布。
  獲獎選手將獲得榮譽證書及獎品。
  七、其他注意事項
  選手應(yīng)保證個人信息真實準(zhǔn)確,作品由本人原創(chuàng),如發(fā)現(xiàn)大段抄襲、作品雷同等作弊現(xiàn)象,將取消選手的參與資格和所獲獎項。
